Genetic Test and Evaluation on Growth Traits of 20 Half-sib Families of Cylocarya paliurus in the Seedling Stage

  • To study the growth rule of seedlings of Cylocarya paliuru,investigation and alanysis were made of the growth traits of seedlings of Ip M. from 20 different families. The results were as follows:there were major differences in growth traits of Ip M. among 20 different families, and a wide range of variation and abundant genetic variation in seedling height and ground diameter, which were good for family selection. According to the results of correlation analysis, significant positive correlations weak found the seedling height and the seedling ground diameter, and week positive correlations were found between the ground diameter and the root cap. The family heritability of seedling height and ground diameter was respectvely 0.87 and 0.82, both were mainly controlled by their genetic character with a strong addictive genetic degree. Four families were selected as fast-growing and good-adapting ones by comprehensively considering the seedling height and ground diameter factors.
