  • Studies were made of the factors influencing the rooting of Photinia serrulata cuttings in this paper. Comparative analysis and variance analysis were used to identify appropriate types of matrix Photinia serrulata cuttings, plant growth regulator concentration, age and length of cuttings. The results showed that Photinia serrulata belonged to a callus-rooting type; 8 cm~10 cm long cuttings were relatively appropriate length. The rooting rate of annual cuttings was higher than that of biennial cuttings. As for the same plant growth regulator,the rooting rate in use of the high concentration was greater than that in use of the low concentration. The brown soil was a better substrate for cuttage.
