Abstract: Liangshantriton taliangensis is an endemic amphibian in the Daliang Mountain area,which has a unique evolution priority and conservation concern.Shimian County is one of most important distribution areas.Its distribution and population status in Shimian County were investigated by questionnaire and quadrate methods.The results showed that the Liangshantriton taliangensis amphibians were widely distributed in Shimian county,and 8 localities were identified.The populations were relatively abundant. Owing to the human harvesting,pollution,invasive species,and degradation of breeding habitats,some populations were declining.Therefore, a series of conservation recommendations were presented.
