Abstract: In this paper,an elaboration is made of the definition and characteristics of ornamental grasses, and a description is given of the origin and the present situation of their application. Suggestions are offered on how to arrange ornamental grasses in landscape and garden-design application,and a few important research directions of ornamental grasses are also mentioned.
