Abstract: Traditional forest protection work is directed toward the control of the plant diseases and insect pests while current forest protection concepts begin to focus on the function of forest self-repair and forest health. If more attention is paid on the non-control methods and use of the self-repair and self-renew function of the forest ecological system,and full use is made of all the biological resource of the forest system and the unique ecological environment of the plateau,forest protection and cological protection can get more economic support so that many ecological crises can be dissolved before they change into disasters.
