Abstract:
From August 2016 to December 2023, the Wildlife Rescue Station of Qianling Mountain Park in Guiyang City (hereinafter referred to as the "Rescue Station") has received and rescued a total of 1,330 wild animals of 125 species. Through data analysis, the following results were obtained: (1) The number of bird species and individuals rescued was the highest (69 species, 947 individuals), while the number of arthropods was the lowest (1 species, 1 individual); (2) Among the rescued animals, those involved in cases accounted for 51.3% of the total rescue number; (3) In 2022, both the number of rescued animals and the number of animals involved in cases were the highest in history, totaling 419 individuals (heads/tails), among which 317 were involved in cases; (4) The peak periods for wildlife rescue were concentrated in May and October each year; (5) Among the rescued animals, the survival rate of reptiles was the highest (78.4%), while that of mammals was only 23.3%; in these years, the survival rate of 2023 was the highest (82.7%). By analyzing the species, quantity, source proportion, and rescue success rate of wild animals, this paper initially explores various factors that may affect the rescue work and the success of animal rescue during the rescue process, analyzes the causes and solutions of these factors, and provides reference experience for relevant units to expand the thinking of future wildlife rescue work and better carry out wildlife rescue work in the future.
