Abstract:
To more precisely define the breeding direction of
Hibiscus mutabilis varieties and facilitate their promotion and application, an ornamental evaluation system for
Hibiscus mutabilis was established based on its aesthetic characteristics using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). This system was applied to evaluate 18 varieties of
Hibiscus mutabilis at the Chengdu Botanical Garden. After comprehensive scoring and ranking, the results indicated that these 18 varieties were categorized into three classes:Class I comprises four superior varieties ('Jinqiuhong', 'Chongbanbaibianhong', 'Mudanfen', 'Jinxiuzi'), Class II includes twelve varieties, and Class III encompasses two varieties. The establishment of this ornamental evaluation system provides a theoretical foundation for the rational development and efficient utilization of
Hibiscus mutabilis resources.
