Abstract:
In order to further understanding the resource distribution and species diversity and better protecting of amphibians in Liziping National Nature Reserve and its surrounding area, a field survey was conducted in June and September each year from 2020 to 2023. Based on the results of field surveys and the data reported in literatures, 17 species of amphibians were recorded, belonging to 14 genera, eight families and two orders. Compared with the report in 2007, four amphibian species added (
Scutiger tuberculatus,
Oreolalax rugosus,
Oreolalax schmidti, and
Hyla gongshanensis chuanxiensis), with
Scutiger tuberculatus being the first record in the county. Moreover, 13 species belonged to the Oriental realm, and four were wide-spread species, 11 species were endemic to China, six species were threatened (Critically Endangered, Endangered and Vulnerable) in the China Biodiversity Red List. The species diversity index indicated a relatively high level of amphibian diversity within the area, and the Red List index suggested that the overall threat level was not high. In the end, some conservation measures were proposed according to the status of amphibians in this area.
