Abstract:
The leaf-rolling beetles (Coleoptera: Attelabidae) are known for their adults exhibiting leaf-rolling and parenting behaviors, and some of them are important pests in agriculture and forestry. However, a number of species lack comprehensive original descriptions and clear diagnosis, causing an obstructed situation in further studies regarding these insects. Based on the original literatures and recently collected specimens,
Paratrachelophorus daliensis Legalov, 2003,
P. foveostriatus (Voss, 1930), and
P. gigas Legalov, 2003 were re-described. Images of adults habitus and male genitalia were provided, and the morphological differences among them were compared. The standardized usage of morphological terminology of Attelabidae was briefly discussed.
