Resource Status and Conservation Strategy of Wetland in Songpan County

According to investigations,it is found that Songpan County is rich in wetland resources with a total area of 9 947.90 hm².They can be divided into four types:permanent rivers, permanent freshwater lakes, shrub swamps and swamp meadows. Of the four types of wetlands, the area of swamp meadows is the largest area,that of permanent rivers is next, the area of permanent freshwater lakes and shrub marshes is relatively small. Inadequate laws and regulations, lack of advocacy and wetland protection funds have bronght a big problem to the wetland protection and management.Besides,in order to protect and use of the wetland resources in Songpan County, some suggeotions are proposed in this paper.
