Investigations on Feeding Giant Pandas with Local Bamboo Resoures in Giant Panda Feeding Place on Mt. Emai

  • This study have shown that there are 8 genera,in including 23 species of bamboos which are distributed between 400 m~2 700 m elevation range on the Mountain Emei. And except 2 species, all the bamboos are edible for giant pandas. The experiment results for the common edible bamboos display that except the Neosinocalamus affinis, the other 8 kinds of bamboos are edible for the pandas in Mt. Emei protection center.
