Selection and Breeding of Superior Varieties of Chaenomeles sinensis

In this paper, three successive years of field investigations were conducted on germplasm resources of Chaenomeles sinensis in Yilong of Sichuan. According to the preliminary selection, re-selection and end-selection, 11 local superior varieties were screened as the research objects. Through deteeting the index of the morphology, yield, fruit and nutritive elements of the single plant and using variance analysis and cluster analysis method, the local varieties suited to promotion and development in Yilong were finally selected, which were Jiulong-2, Wenxing^-1, Sanhe-3.
