New distribution of Castanopsis fissa (Fagaceae) in Chongqing

A newly recorded species of Fagaceae was discovered during a biodiversity survey in Beibei District, Chongqing. Based on literature review and specimen examination, it was identified as Castanopsis fissa (Champ. ex Benth.) Rehder & E. H. Wilson, a new record species in Chongqing. The discovery of this species enriched the flora of Chongqing and provided new data for the compilation of local flora. The voucher specimens were deposited in the Herbarium of Southwest University (HWA20210186), which laid a foundation for further academic research.
